My name is Adrienne and I am a fully qualified counsellor with experience of working with both adults and children
from the age of 11.
Whatever challenges you or your child are facing, I provide a confidential and non-judgemental space where you will be accepted and heard.
My core training is person-centred which means that I believe, given the right environment and relationship with themselves, every person has the potential to change and become the best version of themselves. I do however recognise the uniqueness of every individual and that different situations, at different times may need different approaches. Therefore, I may integrate a range of other therapeutic strategies such as CBT, creative or solution-focussed therapy to help you process your thoughts and emotions effectively to reach your goals.
I have worked with clients from a wide range of backgrounds with vastly varying issues, offering short and long term therapy depending upon the need. I have specialist training in bereavement, anxiety, attachment and low self-worth and alongside my private practice I am currently a counsellor for a sixth form college.
I am a member of the BACP - British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (member number 009486460) and practice within their ethical code ensuring high levels of practice. I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
I am passionate about helping people alleviate distress, grow emotionally, develop new ways of thinking and feeling so that they are able to take back control of their lives.
If you think I may be able to help you or your child, I'd love to hear from you.
I understand how important it is to find the right counsellor for you, therefore I offer a free 20 minute telephone or online consultation. During this call we will discuss your hopes for counselling and explore if and how we can work together.
If you are looking for counselling for your child, I also offer a free 20-minute face to face, telephone or on-line consultation for them as well as you, to see if we are a good fit.
Following sessions are 50 minutes and charged at £60 per session. Sessions are usually held at the same time on a weekly basis, although this can be flexible depending upon your needs and availability.
Payment is required 48-hours in advance or at the time of booking your next appointment and can be made by BACS or cash.
If you are unable to make a session, cancellation is required 48-hours prior or full payment is liable.
Once booked, any sessions you are unable to make can be re-arranged to an alternative date, provided 48 hours notice is given. Failure to pay for a session will mean the session or any subsequent sessions cannot be held until payment is received.
Counselling and Psychotherapy can help with any life event or circumstance that effects your mental, psychological or physical health.
Having a safe and confidential therapeutic space to talk can help you understand your feelings, make choices that are in your power, and navigate a path towards your goals.
I work face to face from a private, beautiful garden setting in Aberford LS25. If you have time constraints or feel more comfortable in your home environment however, I am also trained to work online with clients throughout the UK.
